AML12（α 小鼠肝脏 12）细胞是从 3 个月大小鼠的正常肝脏中分离出来的肝细胞。使用这些细胞作为转染宿主或用于毒理学研究应用。AML12 (α小鼠肝12)细胞系是用转人TGF α基因的小鼠(CD1株，MT42系)肝细胞建立的。。从电子显微镜观察，这些细胞表现出肝细胞的典型特征，如过氧化物酶体和胆汁小管样结构。AML12细胞保留了表达高水平的血清蛋白(球蛋白，α-1抗酪蛋白和转铁蛋白)的mRNA和紧密连接蛋白(connexins26和32),以及乳糖脱氢酶同功酶5单体。细胞表达高水平的人TGF-α和低水平的小鼠TGF-α。随培养时间延长，肝特异性蛋白表达降低，但在无血清培养基中生长又会重新激活。
